Position OverviewThe Traffic Control Laborer will safely and efficiently control the movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects under the supervision of the Project Superintendent.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties & Functions) Perform traffic control and flagging activities as needed.
Follow safety rules and regulations on all work zone and flagging sites, including placing signs, barricades, traffic cones and other warning devices.
Use signs, hand signals and other mechanisms to communicate with motorists and co-workers.
Inform drivers of detour routes through construction sites.
Warn construction and paving workers when approaching vehicle fails to heed signals to prevent accident and injury.
Various other duties as assigned.
Skills & Specifications Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures.
Must be willing travel and work away from home when required.
Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and overtime when necessary.
Education/Professional Experience High School Diploma or equivalent education; and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
